Looks Like Rob is Tennessee Bound! 'Water For Elephants' On Location

Water for Elephants is not quite ready to wrap just yet, as this production reportedly hits the road!

Earlier today, WaterforElephantsfilm.com was the first to report on the possibility of Water for Elephants filming in or around Chattannoga, TN after this casting call went out:

Shoot/Start Date: July 30th through August 2nd, 2010

Location: Chattanooga, TN

[CAUCASIAN MEN ]

age 25-50. In good shape, willing to get a haircut (short on the sides). MUST either live in or close to Chattanooga.

[KIDS ]

Caucasian girls, age 9-11 years old. Caucasian boys age 7-15 years old. Must be willing to get a haircut. MUST either live in or close to Chattanooga.

A second source, WFEfilm is now confirming those reports. So it looks like there's at least a few more weeks of filming before Water for Elephants wraps. Just yesterday part of the FOX Studios in LA were transformed into Weehawken, NJ, as the circus came to town in an elaborate parade. We can only assume, that the scenes shot in Tennessee will be Jacob's college experience/hometown. But we'll have to wait and see. As always, we'll keep you posted!

  1. I don't think it's his college experience.
    1) Several casting calls searching for "Ivy League types" have already been sent out to LA for late June/Early July
    2) He attends school in Ithaca, NY, no where near Chattanooga

  2. WFE was shot in CA & it didn't take place in CA. They don't have to shoot in Ithaca. Nobody even knows what these scenes are yet. This possible location change could be regarding "Old Jacob". Has any of his stuff been shot yet? Did Hal Holbrook aka Old Jacob live in TN with his late wife Dixie Carter? Those scenes are going to make me cry.

  5. well they are casting for children and also older people...maybe casting for Jacob & Marlena's kids...and they live in a rural area so they can keep their animals :) "Jacob" got a vet job in rural Chicago according to the book...I also heard that WFE already shot the scenes for "older Jacob" with Hal Holbrook. Was disappointed we didn't catch any pixs of Hal. But anyways, regardless...this movie is going to be AMAZING!!
